Alright guys,

Its been a long time since I have had a chance to talk to some of your or even rip you apart in the game server, but I have been extremely busy. I'm sitting at my desk in NY right now and had a little down time so I figured I would give everyone an update on the PIX, UltimateFragging, and myself. The latter two will probably be more interesting to most :).

As far as PIX goes, we are more alive then ever. Even with this being the summer and us having people with jobs and taking time out to relax during the day, we still have a fairly populated server, which is always nice to see. Vent users come and go, but the server seems to be doing fairly well. I was trying to think of some ideas on how to keep the server evern more active and I was thinking about the maps that we have in there. Honestly, we only play probably about 10% of the maps we have. Some of the maps are just horrible and will drop almost every player from the server. What I suggest is that we keep the map rotation to only the top 20 most played maps. This is easy to find as psychostats already says what the top maps are (psychostats is down right now but should be up soon). I am not suggesting removing the other maps, but just keep it so we go to maps we know keep the server populated.

As far as the admins go, they seem to be doing a very good job, as I have had next to no complaints. We are always looking for more mature and responsible people to step up and take on an admin role, but as always, there are no applications, you must be asked. The PIX website seems to be working well, but a new theme might help keep people interested, so feel free to let me know your thoughts on that. If you have any themes you would like to propose, just send a link to them in a comment. A lot of people have come together to help make PIX what is is today, and many of them are the admins we have no. They have helped debug here and there and even make it possible to have 32 men in all of our maps, which is a nice touch. Anyone else that has free time that knows a few things, or just wants to learn, let me know. I don't have a lot of time to teach you, but I'm sure we can think of a role where you can test stuff out and start learning.

I think that covers pretty much everythng with PIX, I'll just give you a quick update on UltimateFragging.com. For those of you that aren't aware, UltimateFragging.com is a game server hositng company that Kama, Myself, and Sleeper run. Technically that is who is hosting PIXguild, but that not that big of a deal. The site has gone untouched for a little while which is an issue we are working on and hope to have that fixed in the next few months. We should have it so you can order servers directly from out site, and at the same time, we will be introducing a completely new control panel for voice and game servers that are hosted with us. We will also be looking for someone to spend somet time and write up some tutorials in the forms for UltimateFragging so our clients will have something to reference. I beleive it was Toenail or Tripod that already wrote a very good one that we hope to use in the final product but I will keep you guys updated on that as we go alone. In case any of your friends are looking for a server, be sure to send them our way please :). As you know provide some of the best support there is (how do you think PIX is always running? :) Again thought, keep an eye on that site, it will eventually look a lot different.

My computer died a few months back, then I had it running for a little while without a sound or video card, (I just used it to RD into and check my email). So I have been using my laptop a LOT. My computer is still dead, so I don't play that much since its a little difficult on my laptop. I will eventually fix it, but for now, this is what I've got. I got a paid internship this summer at Citi in Manhattan, NY. I get to my desk at 8 am, and if I'm lucky, i leave by 530, which is rare. It's a 2 hr commute each way, so I get up at 5, and and home at 730 at the earliest. So by the time I get home I'm beat. The week before I started, my family moved, so I was helping with that each weekend. I went down the shore once or twice, and was down there for about a week over the 4th of July. This past weekend was the first chance I had to actually sit down a computer for a little while and not have to do any work, and I really didn't know what to do, haha. Anyways, thats about it, I'll keep working over the summer, get on whenever I can, and eventually start school again in the fall where I managed to arrange my schedule so I have off on Tues, Wedn. and Friday.
